3 DIY PROTEIN MASKS FOR DRY & DAMAGED HAIR
Here are 3 great and easy protein hair masks that you can do at home:
Egg & Yogurt Hair mask:
Eggs can be a great source of protein for your hair. The yolk is rich in fats and proteins which is extremely moisturizing. The whites contain bacteria eating enzymes that cleanse hair and scalp from unwanted oils. For normal hair use whole egg to condition; use just yolks to moisturize dry, brittle hair; and use just whites to treat oily hair. Make sure you make enough to cover all your hair and scalp. Always rinse the egg mask out with cool water to avoid cooking the egg in your strands, then shampoo. Recommended use is once a month if needed.
Yogurt can help reverse hair damage caused by product build up and air pollution. The lactic acid in yogurt gently strips away dirt while the milk fat moisturizes.
1 egg yolk and 6 tablespoons of plain natural yogurt. Coat hair with mixture, cover with shower cap, leave on for 20 minutes. Rinse with cool water and then proceed to shampoo and condition as usual.
